Comprehensive Eye Exams

Comprehensive eye care is about more than just clear vision and a change in glasses. Unlike other parts of the body, the eyes do not always hurt when there is something wrong. This is especially the case with glaucoma and early changes in cataracts, diabetic complications, and macular degeneration.

Regular annual eye exams are necessary for your eye care provider to check for any changes in the vision and eye health. Early detection of eye diseases can allow your optometrist to take proper measures to slow, or stop any vision conditions from getting worse.

We provide comprehensive eye exams that can uncover potentially sight threatening eye conditions that may be symptomless and go unnoticed in physical check ups by your family doctor and school vision screenings.

Children's Eye Exams

Children need special consideration for their eye exams. 80% of learning is visual, so it is important for children to have yearly eye exams once they start school. Children cannot reliably report poor vision until they are about 9 years old, and vision screenings do not always catch any problems in the eyes - they are NOT a substitute for a comprehensive eye exam.

The Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO) recommends a child's first eye examination at 6 months, and then annually starting at 3 years of age. If there are any concerns about your child's vision, do not hesitate to schedule an appointment for him/her at any age.

Emergency Eye Exams

We accept patients immediately for emergency eye care such as foreign body removal, eye injuries, pink eye, eye pain, sudden changes in vision, the onset of flashes of light, or a sudden increase in floaters. * subject to availability *
